Congratulations to Jo Luckin on becoming a Hockey New Zealand Bronze Service awardee.

The Bronze Service award is a prestigious award given to people who provide exceptional service in the sport of hockey over a 15 to 19 year period. Fraser Tech has been very lucky to have Jo as committee member and manager, two roles she currently holds with the club. Jo is also active on the Junior Division committee and as a manager of a masters team. This year we’ve also got her back on the field with a stick in her hand – playing in the Thursday evening 6-a-side competition.

The Waikato Hockey Association nominated Jo for this award in recognition of her valuable contribution to hockey in and around the Waikato region.

  • Jo is highly respected in the Waikato Hockey community and has a valuable skill when recruiting volunteers,
  • She puts in an immense amount of time and effort to ensure that all she is involved in is performed to the highest standard.

“There are so many exceptional people in hockey that give endless hours to improving the sport and giving people the opportunity to play the game they love. These awards are about acknowledging them – they make the sport happen,” says Hockey New Zealand chief executive Hilary Poole.

Jo was presented her award on Sunday 27th of April at the Hockey NZ Silver Anniversary Awards Dinner.

Thanks for all your efforts Jo, and long may you continue to enjoy Hockey.
