He had started his first job with the Ministry of Works a year earlier so joining the club was a good way to meet people and make new friends. The team coach at that time was Parbhu Parsotam who is our present Club patron. While he was coaching at Hamilton Boy’s High School, he was also coaching the Fraser Tech Prem women’s team from 1988 to 1990. In 1992, he became the coach for the Fraser Tech Prem men’s team for 2 years but spent the next 4 years away in Palmerston North. He returned to Hamilton in 1998, where he again took up the position as the Premier men’s coach.
Doug was awarded a Life Membership to the club in 2009, after many years of hard work and a strong commitment to Fraser Tech hockey. He has made an invaluable contribution to the club and to hockey, using his wealth of knowledge and experience, dedicating much of his spare time, encouraging and supporting players of all ages.
